Carver-Hawkeye Arena Athletic Training Room

Carver-Hawkeye Arena (CHA) is one of four fully functioning, versatile athletic training rooms on the University of Iowa campus. Traditional therapies include whirlpools, hot and cold units, rehabilitation weights and equipment, and cardio machines. Other therapeutic equipment available for the student-athlete includes ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, and external compression units. Preparation activities, medical care and rehabilitation are provided for the men's and women's basketball, volleyball, golf, and wrestling teams.

Jacobsen Athletic Building Athletic Training Room

The Athletic Training Room located in the Jacobson Athletic Building includes 10,000-square feet of space and is equipped with the most advanced medical and rehabilitation equipment available.

The Athletic Training Room is staffed by three full-time Athletic Trainers and 10 to 11 Athletic Training Students enrolled in The University of Iowa's Athletic Training Education Program.

In addition, the facility includes a Sports Medicine Conference Room for presentations and consultations with Athletic Training staff, physicians, student-athletes and families, coaches and administrators.

Recreation Building Athletic Training Room

The Recreation Building Athletic Training Room is used by the Hawkeye baseball, cross country, track and field, and softball teams. The athletic training staff consists of the Director of Athletic Training, Terry Noonan, MS, AT, ART; a full time staff athletic trainer; two graduate assistant licensed athletic trainers; and eight student athletic trainers who are enrolled in the University of Iowa ATEP. The athletic training room has excellent amenities to conduct evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation for the student-athletes. The athletic training room also includes a private physician examination room. The newly renovated facility is equipped with rehabilitation tools used to enhance cardiopulmonary and strengthen performance, including ellipticals by Precor, the LeMond independent pedal bikes with PowerCranks, and the Keiser Functional Trainer. The facility is also equipped with traditional electrical stimulation, ultrasound, T.E.N.S., hydrocollator, and hydrotherapy treatment options. These treatments, rehabilitative and preventive options along with newer technology, like the Hivamat, prepare the Hawkeyes for action and aide in the return of injured Hawkeyes to competition.

The Field House Athletic Training Room

The Field House athletic training room is used by the Hawkeye Men and Women's gymnastics and Women's rowing teams, along with the spirit squads. It supports medical care with modern therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, whirlpools, hot and cold packs, electrical stimulation, and T.E.N.S. A CYBEX isokinetic exercise and testing machine is also available for use.

Field House
Beckwith Boathouse Athletic Training Room

Overlooking the Iowa River, the Beckwith Boathouse Athletic Training Room is used by the University of Iowa women's rowing team. Equipped with ultrasound, electrical stimulation, a hydrocollator, four treatment tables, and supplies, it serves as an excellent location and space for on site evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of rowing injuries.

Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center

The Hawkeye Tennis and Recreational Center (HTRC) athletic training room is a newly built satellite facility that is equipped to facilitate the care of student-athletes. The athletic training room is located in the same facility as one of the Universities fully furnished fitness center with an array of cardiovascular equipment and free weight, as well as an indoor turf field. Student- athletes have a free access to the equipment for rehabilitative and preventive purposes. Traditional equipment is also located in this facility such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, T.E.N.S., and hydrocollator. These superb amenities allow the two full time staff athletic trainer to evaluations, treat, and rehabilitate our Hawkeye Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Tennis and Soccer teams.

Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium Athletic Training Room

The Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC) Natatorium athletic training room is equipped to facilitate the care of the University of Iowa swimming and diving teams. The athletic training room is located in the same facility as the Universities newest and largest fully furnished fitness center with an array of cardiovascular equipment, free weights, and wellness center. Equipped with ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hydrocollator, whirlpool, and four treatment tables it serves as an excellent location and space for on-site evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of swimming and diving injuries.
