Iowa City, Iowa -- The University of Iowa today announced it has added a free downloadable desktop alert application, The B-Line, to its official athletic web site (, providing fans and alumni of the Hawkeyes instant access to information related to University of Iowa athletics.

The B-Line gives fans a full view of University of Iowa Athletics, alerting them to the latest breaking news, stories, as well as highlights, all while allowing one-click access to Free software for the B-Line is available for both PCs and Macs and can be downloaded through the official University of Iowa Athletics site, is produced and hosted by CBS College Sports Network, a leader in the official collegiate athletic website business with over 200 colleges and universities currently under contract. The B-Line was provided to the University of Iowa and through a partnership agreement between CBS College Sports Network and New Tier, Inc, a pioneer and industry leader in digital marketing solutions. CBS College Sports Network and New Tier are facilitating the launch of similar versions of the B-Line at 75 colleges and universities by the fall of 2009.
