Meet Kevin Krause

Kevin Krause, W.A. and Nancy Krause's oldest son, has been the president of the Swing of the Quad Cities Minor League Baseball team since 1998.

Prior to joining the Swing of the Quad Cities, Krause was president of Liberty Bank & Trust located in Mason City. Kevin's previous sports experience came during 1988-1991 when he was the President/General Manager of the Continental Basketball Association's (CBA) Cedar Rapids Silver Bullets. Mr. Krause negotiated a naming rights agreement with Coors Light, which was the largest sponsorship in CBA history.

Kevin served as Franklin County Attorney from 1986-1988.





Kevin was the youngest person named to the National I-Club Board when he was nominated in 1993. During his college career, Kevin was Herky the Hawk, the University of Iowa's celebrated mascot for the sports programs. Kevin represented the UI as Herky at the 1982 Rose Bowl.


Kevin serves on the Kum and Go Board of Directors. Krause Gentle Corporation owns more than 420 Kum & Go convenience stores in 13 Midwestern states. Kum & Go is Iowa's largest privately held convenience store chain.

Kevin also serves on the Scott County YMCA Board, Quad Cities Junior Achievement, Friendly House and the Quad City Sports Commission.

Kevin and the University of Iowa

Kevin graduated from the University of Iowa in 1982 and the University of Iowa College of Law in 1985. He is on the Executive Committee and first Vice President of the National I-Club Board of Directors. Kevin is the incoming president of the National I-Club. His father, W.A. Krause also served as the president of the National I-Club, making it the first time that father and son have served as National I-Club president.

Kevin and his wife Mary, who also graduated from the University of Iowa, have three children: daughters A.J. (currently a freshman at the University of Iowa) and Morgan, and son William "Bo".
