Blitchok Earns TeamSnap.com All-America Honors

24 Hawkeyes to Watch 2016-17 | 2016 Iowa Soccer Schedule

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Incoming University of Iowa freshman Sydney Blitchok has been named a TeamSnap.com Spring All-American.  She is a second-team honoree.
 
Blitchok was also tabbed a TeamSnap Spring State Star for the state of Michigan.  She is a native of Grandville.
 
The midfielder scored 17 goals and had 28 assists as a senior at Grandville High School, leading her team to a 20-2-1 overall record and to the Division 1 Regional Championship game.  She also was Michigan’s Michigan’s Ms. Soccer and was a first-team all-state selection as a senior.
 
Freshmen Devin Burns (Green Oaks, Illinois) and Cora Meyers (Riverdale, Iowa) were also tabbed as TeamSnap Spring State Stars in Illinois and Iowa, respectively.
 
The Hawkeyes begin fall camp Aug. 3 before hosting Northern Iowa in an exhibition on Aug. 12 at the Iowa Soccer Complex.
