THE MATCH-UP
The University of Iowa soccer team hosts its makeup game with Nebraska (9-3-4, 3-1-4) on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. (CT) before playing its regular season home finale against Wisconsin (10-4-2, 4-3-2) on Saturday at 7 p.m.  Both contests will take place at the Iowa Soccer Complex. Admission is free.

THE SERIES

• Nebraska has won all 10 meetings in the series, including a 1-0 victory in the 2013 Big Ten Tournament title game. The Huskers won the last meeting in Iowa City, 5-3.   
• Wisconsin leads the all-time series, 13-5-3. The Hawkeyes haven’t defeated the Badgers since their 2-1 victory in Iowa City in 2012.

SORTING OUT THE B1G TOURNEY RACE
The Hawkeyes are currently ninth in the in the Big Ten standings with 10 points, three points behind Nebraska and Purdue for the final Big Ten Tournament qualifying spot.  Iowa has games against the Huskers, Wisconsin (sixth), and Illinois (t12th) remaining in the regular season.
 
STUENKEL STEPS UP
Senior Karly Stuenkel has found the back of the net in four of Iowa’s last five games.  She had the game-winning goal in the Hawkeyes’ 2-1 road win at Purdue.  Stuenkel is fourth on the team with four goals and 11 points in 2017.  She has 14 career goals as a Hawkeye.

GRAVES SAVES
• Sophomore goalkeeper Claire Graves was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10 after posting back-to-back shutouts in Hawkeye victories over No. 23 Rutgers and Maryland. It was Graves’ first career honor.
• The Indiana native made five saves in the 1-0 win over Rutgers and four stops in a 4-0 victory over Maryland. She is 8-6-1 with 48 saves and five shutouts in 2017.

SOPHOMORES STEP UP
• Four sophomores – Devin Burns, Kaleigh Haus, Olivia Fiegel, and Natalie Winters – lead the team in goals, assists, and points. 
• The quartet has combined for 21 of Iowa’s 29 goals this season. They also combine for 15 Hawkeye assists in 2017. 
• Burns scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in Iowa’s 4-0 home victory over Maryland on Oct. 8.  The eight goals are the most by a Hawkeye since 2014 when Cloe Lacasse scored 10 goals.
• Goalkeeper Claire Graves has competed in 1320 minutes of action, collecting 48 saves and five shutouts. 
 
BACK ON BOARD
• Seniors Karly Stuenkel and Corey Burns and sophomore Natalie Winters all collected points in Iowa’s win 2-1 win over Purdue on Oct. 15 in West Lafayette. 
• Stuenkel and Winters netted their fourth and second goals of the season, respectively, while Burns notched her second assist of 2017. 
• The pair of seniors combine for 53 points during their time with the Hawkeyes. 
 
SCOUTING NEBRASKA
• Nebraska (9-3-4, 3-1-4) has either won or tied its last seven matches. The wins have come over Michigan State (3-0), Maryland (3-0), and Purdue (3-2).
• The team is second in conference in shots (266). The Huskers have outshot opponents, 266-150, this season and average 16.6 shots per game.
• Goalkeeper Aubrei Corder has collected six shutouts and 41 saves this season. She is tied for fourth in the Big Ten in shutouts. 

SCOUTING WISCONSIN
• Wisconsin (10-4-2, 4-3-2) suffered its third Big Ten loss last weekend, falling 2-0 at Northwestern. 
• Dani Rhodes has collected 21 of the Badgers’ 57 points this season. She has a team-leading nine goals — more than the next three athletes combined — and three assists. Rhodes is tied for first in conference with five game- winning goals. 
• Goalkeeper Caitlyn Clem has seven shutouts and 45 saves this season.
 
QUICK HITTERS
• Iowa has outscored opponents, 29-18, this season. The team is averaging 14.3 shots per game and has collected 29 goals and 29 assists for 87 points. The team’s 29 assists are the most since 2012 and the 29 goals are the most since 2014.
• The Hawkeyes rank in the top 50 nationally in assists per game (35th), points per game (39th), scoring offense (45th), total points (43rd), total goals (47th), and assists (32nd). 
• Iowa’s eight goals, 10 assists, and 26 points against Southern Utah on Aug. 31 are high-water marks in the Big Ten this season.
• Sophomore Claire Graves posted her fifth shutout of the season — and ninth of her career — in Iowa’s 4-0 win over Maryland.
• Senior Karly Stuenkel, junior Rose Ripslinger, and sophomore Natalie Winters were named to the Big Ten Preseason Honors List.  Stuenkel is Iowa’s 2017 team captain.
 
B1G LEADERS
• The Hawkeyes are tied for third in the Big Ten in goals per game (1.87). They are fourth in conference in points (85), goals (28), assists (29), and assists per game (1.93).
• Sophomores Devin Burns is third in the league in points per game (1.40) and tied for third in game winning goals (3).
• Burns is also fourth in goals per game (.530) and tied for fourth in goals (8) and points (21).
 
RECORDS, RECORDS, WE LIKE RECORDS
• Iowa tied a single-game goals record in its 8-1 victory over Southern Utah on Aug. 31.  It was the third time in program history the team scored eight goals in a game and the first since 1998 during the program’s second season.
• Sophomore Devin Burns tied a pair of individual single-game records in the triumph over Southern Utah.  The forward tallied the eighth hat trick in school history, tying the goals record, and she added an assist to become the third Hawkeye — first since 2003 — to finish with seven points in a match.
• Sophomore Natalie Winters tied a single-game assists record in Iowa’s 5-1 victory at Richmond. She is the fourth Hawkeye to accomplish the feat.
 
UP NEXT
The Hawkeyes finish regular season on the road in Champaign, Illinois, facing the Fighting Illini on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. (CT).
