Women’s Tennis Inks Yufei Long

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Yufei Long has a signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Iowa and compete for the Hawkeyes next fall, UI women’s tennis head coach Sasha Schmid announced Tuesday.
  
38006Long, a native of Shenzhen, China, is ranked No. 291 by the International Tennis Federation and owns a Universal Tennis Rating of 10.65. She has two career wins over top 125 players.
                    
“I am excited to announce the addition of Yufei Long to our Iowa Women’s Tennis teama,” said Schmid. “Yufei is an experience player who has competed around the world at the highest level of junior tennis.  She has a talented game, a love for tennis, and a passion to improve. There is no doubt that Yufei’s strong baseline game and experienced doubles play will be a tremendous asset to our team.”
 
Long is the third player to commit to the Hawkeyes in 2017. She joins Danielle Bauers, a five-start recruit from Alpharetta, Georgia, and Danielle Burich, a four-star recruit from Bradenton, Florida.
