4 Hawkeyes Selected to Developmental Squad National Camp

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Juniors Mallory Lefkowitz and Melissa Progar, sophomore Makenna Grewe, and former Hawkeye Dani Hemeon were selected to attend Developmental Squad National Camp, USA Field Hockey announced Friday afternoon.

After five days of competition in the Young Women’s National Championship, the Hawkeyes will begin Development Squad National Camp action at Spooky Nook Sports in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, from June 17-20.

In her third year as a Hawkeye in 2016, Lefkowitz started every game and registered one goal and three assists for five points.

Progar registered a team-high 12 assists, a mark that ranked second in the Big Ten. The junior also scored one goal against Saint Louis.

Grewe saw action in six games, scoring two goals and three assists for seven points before being sidelined with an injury. During her freshman season, Grewe recorded seven goals and led the team with seven assists. She also ranked seventh in the conference and 22nd nationally in assists.

Hameon was an Iowa letterwinner from 2011-14. The Gilroy, California, native played in 77 games in her Hawkeye career, notching 61 starts. Hameon was also a 2013 Division I Third Team All-American and a two-time All-Big Ten selection.
