Kyle Reid is chasing old records and new goals during his senior season

Mike Scott recently completed his first season as interim assistant coach. He assisted with the pole vault, high jump and combined events. He joined the staff in an interim capacity after serving as the team's volunteer assistant coach in 2012.
Under Scott's direction, Kyle Reid qualified for the NCAA Championships in the pole vault and set school records in the heptathlon and decathlon.
Scott's collegiate coaching experience includes stops at Ohio Northern University, where he helped the Polar Bears capture four Ohio Athletic Conference Championships from 2010-11. He was also a graduate assistant at Central Missouri from 2006-08, where he helped the Mules and Jennies combine for five Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association titles.
Scott was a sprinter at the University of Missouri before completing his undergraduate degree in 1998. He then coached high school track in Missouri from 2000-06 before eventually returning to his alma mater to finish his PhD course work in 2009. Scott earned his first USATF certification in 2001, and recently earned his USTFCCCA Academy certification in jumps and combined events.
He is originally from Festus, Mo., and currently resides in Coralville, Iowa.
