IOWA CITY, IA - Four members of the University of Iowa track and field team have earned United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) all-America honors. Patrick Richards, Steven Willey, Erik Sowinski and Chris Barton each earned honors by placing seventh in the 1,600-meter relay at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships last weekend.

Willey earned two all-America honors. In addition to his contribution to the relay team, the junior from Onawa, IA, placed 15th in the 400 meters. The national top-eight finishers at the 2010 NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships earn all-America accolades. In addition, the top eight finishing student-athletes among U.S. citizens from the NCAA Championships gain all-America status.

"This is a tremendous honor to conclude what has been an outstanding season," said Head Coach Larry Wieczorek. "This is a great group of young men and we're thrilled that, as underclassmen, they'll all be back next season to lead us into what should be another great year for Iowa track and field."

The relay team turned in season-best time at the NCAA Championships, crossing the finish line in 3:05.61, the fifth-fasted time in program history. Willey, the Big Ten Champion in the 400 meters, clocked a 46.51 in the national semifinals.
