IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Former Florida State assistant Molly Jones has joined the University of Iowa track and field coaching staff. The announcement was made today by director of track and field Larry Wieczorek.

Jones will coach pole vault, high jump, and multi-events, including the heptathlon and decathlon.

"Molly Jones joins our team from a national power and NCAA contender," said Wieczorek. "She's coming from one of the major programs in America and we're thrilled she's going to bring a wealth of experience to the University of Iowa. She's extremely smart, extremely hungry, and I'm sure she'll be a great addition to the program."

"I am very excited to join the Hawkeye family," said Jones. "The Big Ten is a great conference and I want to thank Coach Wieczorek for allowing me the opportunity to contribute to an already successful Iowa track and field program. I'm prepared for the challenge and ready to get started."

Jones has spent the past two seasons as a volunteer coach at Florida State. Since 2011, she has assisted with short sprints, jumps, multi-events and javelin. She worked with six NCAA All-Americans, and helped guide the Seminoles to ACC championships in 2012 and 2013.

Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University in 2006, and a Master of Science degree from Florida State in 2012. She is a certified sports nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition, and earned her USTFCCCA Technical Coaches Certification in 2012. In July 2013, she added the USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy Jump Specialist Certification.
