66 Hawkeyes Earn Spring Academic All-Big Ten Honors

Three UI student-athletes have maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA

Hawk Item -- Member of the 2011 Unity Council.

2012 Honors -- Named Academic All-Big Ten. 2012 -- Saw action in 11 games, making two starts in left... went 1-for-9 with two runs scored... swiped one base.

2011 -- Played in 31 games with 13 starts... started all 13 contests in left field... batted .209, tallying nine hits in 43 at-bats... scored 10 runs and notched six RBI... stole five bases... tallied one double and 10 total bases... recorded one multi-hit game and one multiple RBI game... drew nine walks... hit .417 when leading off an inning... tallied two two-out RBI... recorded first career hit, double, RBI and multi-hit game (2-for-2) against Coe College (Apr. 6)... batted .273 in home contests and .264 on non-conference action... played in the third most games of any Hawkeye rookie.

High School -- Started all four years, hitting over .300 three times... three-time All-Conference honoree... named All-Area twice and All-City once... led team to three straight conference titles... led team to 2009 state title and runner-up finish in 2010... member of National Honor Society and high school honor roll.
