COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The University of Iowa baseball team lost Sunday's series finale at Ohio State 10-4 at Bill Davis Stadium.

The Hawkeyes won two-of-three from the Buckeyes this weekend capturing its second consecutive series (Penn State). Iowa will continue its quest for a second straight Big Ten Tournament appearance Thursday at West Lafayette, Ind., when the Hawkeyes conclude the regular season at Purdue.

The Buckeyes broke the game open with five runs on two hits, three walks and a Hawkeye error off Lala and relief pitcher Zach Kenyon. Ohio State plated two early runs in the bottom of the third before rain forced the contest to be delayed for two hours. Once the game resumed, the Buckeyes scored three more runs to build a 6-0 advantage.

The score remained unchanged until the bottom of the sixth when Ohio State recorded another two-out RBI double to push its lead to 7-0.

Iowa (20-28, 9-12) had a single tally in the seventh with a Trevor Willis bases loaded RBI single to second base, allowing Phil Keppler to cross home plate. Keppler finished the game with two base hits and a sacrifice fly RBI.

Ohio State's first six batters reached in the seventh, scoring its final three runs off Hawkeye relievers Ricky Sandquist and Jeff Pacha.

Iowa, who has won two-of-three from the Buckeyes in consecutive years, plated their three final runs in the eighth. Keppler had a sacrifice fly and then two batters later, Kurt Lee drove home Tyson Blaser and Chett Zeise with a bases-loaded single up the middle.

Senior Kevin Lee pitched a one-two-three eighth inning for the Hawkeyes.

Greg Greve earned his second win for Ohio State, throwing five shutout innings. Buckeye shortstop Tyler Engle went 2-for-5, with a double and three RBI to pace the Buckeye offense.
