The University of Iowa baseball team will play its second of three fall home games at Banks Field Friday at 6 p.m. The Hawkeyes will take on Iowa Western, in what is believed to be the first-ever contest between both schools. Admission to the game will be free.

Last week, the Hawkeyes beat the Iowa Central Tritons, 9-6, in a scheduled 10 innings. The game featured ten Hawkeye pitchers, each getting one inning on the mound. Pitching well for the Hawkeyes were senior Wes Freie, who struck out three Tritons in one inning of work, and Zach Kenyon, who struck out two allowing no hits in one inning on the mound.

Junior Tyson Blaser swung the bat well for the Black and Gold going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Freshman Chett Zeise's first game as a Hawkeye was memorable; he hit the game-winning double to drive in three RBI in the bottom of the tenth.
