1986-1987: Shared Iowa's team MVP Award...selected AP and UPI honorable mention all-Big Ten...started at off-guard and subbed at small forward...field goal with 0:04 left won game at Ohio State...three-point goal with 0:03 left in overtime won NCAA tourney game vs. 26 points (11-13 from the field) to earn CBS-TV "Player of the Game" vs. the Sooners...18 points vs. UNLV in west regional final...named to the all-west regional team...tallied 18 points vs. Santa Clara and 14 against UTEP in NCAA tourney...made 32 of 41 (78.0 percent) shots in the NCAA tournament...scored 19 at Purdue, 17 vs. Indiana, 19 vs. Ohio State, 19 at Michigan State and 22 at Michigan in five-game stretch...eight rebounds vs. Boilermakers, seven vs. the Hoosiers and eight vs. the Buckeyes in consecutive games...13 of his 15 boards vs. Indiana and Ohio State were on the offensive end...CBS-TV "Player of the Game" at Michigan and vs. Santa Clara...21 points with nine rebounds and six assists in 24 minutes at Northwestern...20 points at Arizona...made nine of 10 shots at Purdue, playing mostly small forward...10 boards and four assists at UC-Irvine...double figurer scorer 20 times.
