University of Iowa senior basketball player Adam Haluska has been named to the Associated Press honorable mention all-America team.

Haluska's all-America recognition marks the second straight season an Iowa player has earned the distinction, as guard Jeff Horner was awarded the same honor a year ago.

Haluska earned first team all-Big Ten honors this season. The native of Carroll, IA is also a first team academic all-American and was named the Academic all-American of the Year for Division I men's basketball. He is also one of 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.

Haluska led the Big Ten Conference in scoring, averaging 20.5 points in all games and 21.3 in league games. He started all 98 games at Iowa over the past three seasons and ranks seventh in career scoring with 1,578 points. He is Iowa's scoring leader among those who played just three seasons.

Haluska is one of eight players who will compete Thursday, March 29 in the 19th annual State Farm Slam Dunk & Three Point shooting contest. Others in the competition include Acie Law, Texas A&M; Stephen Sir, Northern Arizona, Aaron Brooks, Oregon; Colin Falls, Notre Dame; Jarrius Jackson, Texas Tech; Demetris Nichols, Syracuse; and Kammron Taylor, Wisconsin.

Haluska will also compete in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) DiGiorno All-Star game Friday, March 30.
