IOWA CITY, Iowa - The University of Iowa men's basketball team is preparing for its third exhibition game of its tour of Rome and Athens, but before doing so it spent some time on the beach, according to sophomore center Andrew Brommer.

"Hey Hawk fans! This is sophomore Andrew Brommer coming to you from Athens, Greece," Brommer writes in his blog.

"This city is huge and filled with lots of things to do. The food here is different from Rome. Rome's specialty is pasta and pizza and Athens is different meats, potatoes and breads. The best food that I've had in Athens is a chicken on a stick with a special sauce on it. I don't know what that sauce is called, but it tasted great.

"Athens is a beautiful city. There is one hill in the middle which is called the Acropolis. This is where ancient Athens began. Back then Athens was a fairly small city. When the city became the capital of Greece the population exploded. So, in the heart of the city ancient Athens is preserved and around it is a thriving city. Then in the distance there are huge mountains that you don't get to see every day in Iowa City. Athens is also located on the ocean, which is really cool."
