The University of Iowa travel party returned to Iowa City safe and sound Monday evening, albeit after a long day of travel. Departure from the hotel at 5 a.m. meant a 4 a.m. wake-up call. From there it was a 90 minute flight from Athens to Rome, then a 10-hour jaunt back to Chicago.

It was ironic to arrive back in Rome Monday morning to see nothing but dark skies and a steady rain. Throughout the trip, every day was sunny and warm, without a drop of precipitation in either Rome or Athens.

The team and coaching staff arrived in Iowa City around 8 p.m., almost exactly 24 hours after the wake-up call in Athens.
