1990 - Voted Big Ten Offensive Player-of-the-Year (along with Matt Rodgers and Jon Vaughn) by coaches...honored by Chicago Tribune as MVP in Big Ten...first team all-conference by coaches and second team by media...first team all-America by Football News...one of eight finalists for Doak Walker Award, given to college football's best running back...finished season with 1,009 yards on 166 carries (6.1 average) and 12 TD's despite splitting time with Tony Stewart...only fifth Hawkeye to rush for 1,000 yards in a season...caught 21 passes for 308 yards (14.7 average) and two scores... led team in scoring with 84 points (7.0 average)...ABC-TV player of the game against Illinois when he rushed for 168 yards (22 carries) and two TD's...44-yard run on Iowa's first offensive play...also had rushes of 26, 16, 15, 13, and 12 yards against an Illini defense that ranked first in Big Ten...Iowa Offensive MVP against Cincinnati, Michigan State, Northwestern and Illinois...also offensive Mr. Hustle against Cincinnati...gained 64 yards on 11 carries and had three receptions for 85 yards in Rose Bowl...scored touchdowns on runs of 15 and 20 yards and had 66-yard reception in Rose Bowl.

1989 - Honorable mention all-Big Ten by AP...led Hawkeyes with 603 yards rushing (5.2 per carry)...added 12 receptions for 96 yards...played both TB and FB...started five times...ninth in Big Ten rushing...gained 217 yards (31 attempts), a seven-yard average, at Wisconsin...that rushing total is fourth best in Iowa history (Ed Podolak had 286 vs. Northwestern, Phil Blatcher had 247 vs. Michigan State and Dennis Mosley had 229 vs. Iowa State)...scored three touchdowns and was named team offensive MVP vs. Badgers.

1988 - Set school record for receptions in a game (13) at Indiana...had 128 yards receiving and scored his first touchdown on 12-yard pass vs. Hoosiers...averaged 10 yards per reception...ran for two scores vs. Northwestern...led special team with 18 tackles (14 solos)...won Hustle Award for Kansas State, Indiana, and Northwestern games...special team offensive MVP at Indiana.

1987 - Did not compete

High school honors - first team all-state, all-conference, all-city, team MVP and captain at Clark...Career - 893 yards rushing (113 carries) led city as senior...scored 12 TDs in first season at FB...averaged 30 yards per reception...four runs longer than 50 yards in last three games...state heavyweight wrestling champ as junior.
