Chris Ruth is in his second year as assistant football video coordinator at the University of Iowa. Ruth joined the Hawkeye program from Florida State University, where he was employed as a producer and editor for Seminole Productions for five years.
As a member of the Iowa football video staff, Ruth's duties include assisting with the breakdown of football practice and game video, as well as the weekly video scouting preparation throughout the football season. Chris produces highlight tapes for players entering the NFL, instructional tapes for coaches, and motivational hit films that the football team views before each game. His highlight videos are also used in recruiting and the overall promotion of the Hawkeye football program.
While employed at Seminole Productions Chris produced, directed and edited video content for a number of Florida State athletic programs, while working primarily with the Seminole football program. Chris produced player features and highlight videos, stadium video board features and fund raising videos. His work has won numerous awards, including first place Best of Show at Broadcast Education Association (BEA) for Promotional Video, and first place overall winner at Collegiate Sports Video Association Conference (CSVA).
As an undergraduate Ruth was an intern at Seminole Productions, where he worked live sporting events and produced/edited various sport shows for Sun Sports, a regional FOX network.
Ruth is a native of Clermont, Fla., and attended South Lake HS, where he was class salutatorian.
With a focus in sports production, Chris earned his degree in Media Production, with a minor in film, from Florida State in 2011, earning Summa Cum Laude distinction.
Ruth was born in Monterey, Cal. His wife's name is Britney.
