1986 - Named Big Ten "Offensive Lineman of the Year"...one of five Iowa team captains...third season as a starting tackle...top pass blocker for an offense that led the nation in total offense and scoring much of the season...graded out as Iowa's top blocker all year...Iowa's offensive MVP vs. Texas-El Paso...first team all-America by the Football Writer's Association of America, The Sporting News and College and Pro Football News Weekly...earned second team all-America by UPI and Gannett and honorable mention all-America by AP...finalist for the Outland Trophy...played in the Japan Bowl...first team all-Big Ten by AP and UPI...academic all-Big Ten.

1985 - Honorable mention all-Big Ten pick by AP and UPI...season-long starter at left tackle...Hawkeyes' MVP on offense for the Illinois game as selected by the coaching staff.

1984 - Began the season as a starting tackle but an injury kept him out most of the season...started the first three games and came back for the last two.

1983 - Second-teamer at tackle behind NFL first-round draft pick John Alt...received the most playing time of an offensive line reserve...played a lot in short yardage situations.

High School - Played offensive line in football and forward in basketball...first-team all-Sioux Interstate Conference in football (twice) and first-team all-state.
