Max Allen is in his second year as Iowa football's director of new media. He served as an administrative assistant for the Hawkeyes during the 2013 season.
Iowa has participated in January bowl games the past two seasons, including the 2014 Outback Bowl and the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl. Iowa posted an overall 8-5 record in 2013, including a 5-3 mark in the Big Ten to tie for second in the Legends Division.
Allen works closely with the Iowa football staff regarding design and production of print and electronic recruiting materials, management of football specific social media, and works with athletics marketing regarding football specific activities.
He joined the Iowa program from the University of Colorado, where he held the position of assistant director of player personnel for three years. At Colorado he assisted with on-campus recruiting and coordinated the freshman enrollment process. Allen also spent one season as an operations intern with the Buffalo football program.
Allen graduated from Colorado in 2010, earning his bachelor's degree in business (finance).
Allen is a native of Durango, Colorado, and graduated from Durango High School. As a prep he lettered in football and baseball.
Allen was born Jan. 31, 1988. He is single.
