IOWA CITY, Iowa -- - Attention guys. If you're not watching too closely, your girlfriend or wife may know when the Hawkeyes drop into a "Cover 2" or make a subtle change to their traditional "Pro Set" offense before you thanks to a special event being staged this summer by the University of Iowa football program.

2011 Camp Central Spring

The inaugural "Ladies Football Academy" will be staged Saturday, June 18. The event is designed to provide women the opportunity to learn the game of football from those who know it best - members of the Iowa football coaching staff - and to raise money for the UI Children's Hospital.

Participants pay a registration fee of $50 and are required to raise an additional $300 for donation to the UI Children's Hospital. In exchange, they'll tour the locker rooms of historic Kinnick Stadium, "swarm" the playing field at Kinnick to the beat of "Back in Black," and instruction at the Kenyon Practice Facility before closing the day with an awards ceremony inside the UI's indoor practice facility known as "The Bubble."

The number of participants is limited. Special rates at local hotels are available for participants who elect to spend a night in Iowa City. For more information visit the Academy's official world wide web site by clicking HERE.

You can register online by clicking HERE. Women who choose not to participate in the Academy but do want to support the UI Children's Hospital can do so by clicking HERE.
