    IOWA CITY -- McCain and Obama, step aside for the weekend. There's another vote to be cast.

    Fans of the University of Iowa football team can now vote on their favorite design for the first "Be Bold Wear Gold!" football t-shirt design contest. The winning design will be used as the artwork for the official commemorative" Be Bold Wear Gold!" t-shirt for this year's "Gold Game": Iowa versus Wisconsin football game on Oct. 18 at historic Kinnick Stadium.


    As in the past, all fans of the Hawkeyes attending the annual battle for the Heartland Trophy are encouraged to wear gold in support of the 2008 Iowa Hawkeyes.

    After receiving dozens of entries for the contest, the finalists have been narrowed down to four designs submitted by Jill Orness of North Liberty, Brad Angell of Waterloo, Ryan Compton of Mason City, and Tony Pennuto, a junior at the University of Iowa.

    To place your vote, go to the Fan Poll on the home page of hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

    T-shirts featuring the winning design will be available upon announcement of the winner at bravosportsmarketing.com . Shirts will also be available be available at Iowa Book and Supply in Iowa City, the Iowa City/Coralville Convention and Visitor Bureau welcome center location in the Coral Ridge Mall, and Scheels in Coral Ridge Mall and in West Des Moines.

    All of the aforementioned locations will also have the official t-shirt for the 2008 Blackout game against Iowa State on Sept. 13.
