IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa football program is tied for ninth in the nation with 25 former players on active NFL rosters. In addition, nine other Hawkeyes reside on practice squads or injured reserve.
Iowa ties Michigan for second in the Big Ten amongst NFL alumni on active rosters. Ohio State leads the way with 35. Iowa has five former tight ends in the league, which equals USC and Stanford for the most.
The NFL continued regular season action over the weekend with its fourth week of games. A number of former Hawkeyes saw action and had success for their respective teams.
Pat Angerer - LB - Indianapolis Colts: Angerer, the leading tackler for the Colts in 2011, has missed the first four games of the regular season after suffering a foot injury in Indianapolis' preseason opener.
Jonathan Babineaux - DL - Atlanta Falcons: Babineaux started his 65th-consecutive game for the Falcons at defensive tackle on Sunday, recording three tackles. He turned in two solo stops and a sack.
Christian Ballard - DL - Minnesota Vikings: Ballard, one of a Big Ten-best six Hawkeyes drafted in 2011, saw action but recorded no statistics in Minnesota's win vs. Tennessee. The defensive tackle played in all 16 games, with two starts, a year ago. He has played in all five games this season.
Jordan Bernstine - DB - Washington Redskins: Bernstine was moved to the Redskins' injured reserve list after an injury in the season opener.
Bryan Bulaga - OL - Green Bay Packers: Bulaga, in his third season with the Packers, made his 29th career start on Sunday.
Scott Chandler - TE - Buffalo Bills: Chandler had another solid outing for the Bills on Sunday, leading the team with 40 reception yards on four catches. He is tied for third in the NFL with four touchdown catches this season.
Dallas Clark - TE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Clark and the Buccaneers had a bye week.
Adrian Clayborn - DL - Tampa Bay Buccaneers: In his second year in the league, Clayborn is on the Buccaneers' injured reserve list. The former Iowa All-American started all 19 games in his career for Tampa Bay prior to the injury. Clayborn registered 7.5 sacks during his rookie campaign in 2011.
Sean Considine - DB - Baltimore Ravens: Recorded a solo tackle in Baltimore's win at Kansas City on Sunday.
Mike Daniels - DL - Green Bay Packers: Did not see action.
A.J. Edds - LB - Indianapolis Colts: In his third year in the league, Edds is on the Colts' injured reserve list.
Bradley Fletcher - DB - St. Louis Rams: Fletcher had another big week for the Rams in their 17-3 win over Arizona. He turned in four tackles, including three solo stops and a sack.
Adam Gettis - OL - Washington Redskins: Listed as second team right guard for the Redskins.
Charles Godfrey - DB - Carolina Panthers: Godfrey recorded three tackles in Carolina's loss to Seattle. Godfrey became the first rookie in team history to start all 16 games at safety in 2008. He has started 62 of the last 63 games for the Panthers.
Shonn Greene - RB - New York Jets: Greene and the Jets play tonight on Monday Night Football against Houston (7:30 p.m. CT, ESPN). The former All-American and 2008 Doak Walker Award Winner has started 18 of the last 20 contests.
Chad Greenway - LB - Minnesota Vikings: For the fourth time this season, Greenway led the Vikings in tackles, recording nine total tackles in Minnesota's win over Tennessee. The former Iowa All-American turned in five solo stops, a tackle for loss and a pass defended. He ranks second in the league with 53 tackles this season.
Brad Herman - TE - New England Patriots: In his first year in the league, Herman is on the Patriots' injured reserve list.
Nate Kaeding - K - San Diego Chargers: Kaeding, the NFL's all-time most accurate field goal kicker (.870), missed San Diego's game Sunday due to injury.
Karl Klug - DL - Tennessee Titans: Recorded no stats in Titans loss at Minnesota. Klug has appeared in all 21 games for Tennessee during his first two seasons, making one start in each. As a rookie in 2011, Klug compiled a team-high seven sacks. The total tied for sixth place in sacks among all NFL rookies, tied for fourth among all NFL defensive tackles, and led all NFL rookie defensive tackles.
Marvin McNutt - WR - Philadelphia Eagles: In his first year in the league, McNutt is a member of the Eagles practice squad.
Tony Moeaki - TE - Kansas City Chiefs: Moeaki saw action but did not catch a pass for the Chiefs in their loss to Baltimore. He has started four of five games this season, and 19 of 20 in his career.
Brandon Myers - TE - Oakland Raiders: Myers and the Raiders had a bye week.
Seth Olsen - OL - Indianapolis Colts: Missed his first game of the season due to injury after starting the first three for Indianapolis.
Shaun Prater - DB - Cincinnati Bengals: In his first year in the league, Prater is on the Bengals' injured reserve list.
Riley Reiff - OL - Detroit Lions: Reiff and the Lions had a bye week. Reiff has played in all four games for Detroit this season, with one start. He was Detroit's first round pick in 2012, marking the third-straight season an Iowa player was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Allen Reisner - TE - Minnesota Vikings: Reisner is currently on the Vikings practice squad. He played in Minnesota's first three games this season.
Tyler Sash - DB - New York Giants: Won a super bowl ring during his rookie season with the Giants in 2011.
Amari Spievey - DB - Detroit Lions: Spievey and the Lions had a bye week.
Ricky Stanzi - QB - Kansas City Chiefs: Did not see action for the Chiefs.
Jeff Tarpinian - LB - New England Patriots: Tarpinian is a current member of New England's practice squad. He appeared in seven games for the Patriots in 2011.
Julian Vandervelde - OL - Philadelphia Eagles: Vandervelde is a member of the Eagles practice squad. He spent the 2011 season with Philadelphia.
Marshal Yanda - OL - Baltimore Ravens: Yanda made his 63rd career start for Baltimore in its win at Kansas City on Sunday.
Markus Zusevics - OL - New England Patriots: In his first year in the league, Zusevics is on the Patriots' injured reserve list.
