Hawkeyes in the NFL: Week 8 Recap

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa football program is tied for ninth in the nation with 25 former players on active NFL rosters. In addition, nine other Hawkeyes reside on practice squads or injured reserve.
Iowa ties Michigan for second in the Big Ten amongst NFL alumni on active rosters. Ohio State leads the way with 35. Iowa has five former tight ends in the league, which equals USC and Stanford for the most.
The NFL continued regular season action over the weekend with its eighth week of games. A number of former Hawkeyes saw action and had success for their respective teams.
Jonathan Babineaux - DL - Atlanta Falcons: Babineaux has started 66 of the last 67 games for Atlanta. He recorded a tackle for loss Sunday in the Falcons win at Philadelphia. Babineaux leads Atlanta with six tackles for loss this year.
Christian Ballard - DL - Minnesota Vikings: Ballard, one of a Big Ten-best six Hawkeyes drafted in 2011, recorded three tackles, including a solo tackle, in Minnesota's loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday. The defensive tackle played in all 16 games, with two starts, a year ago. He has played in all eight contests this season.
Jordan Bernstine - DB - Washington Redskins: Bernstine was moved to the Redskins' injured reserve list after an injury in the season opener.
Bryan Bulaga - OL - Green Bay Packers: Bulaga, in his third season with the Packers, made his 32nd career start on Sunday as Green Bay defeated the Jaguars.
Scott Chandler - TE - Buffalo Bills: Chandler is tied for 14th in the NFL with four touchdown catches this season. The Bills had a bye week.
Dallas Clark - TE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tallied three catches for 40 yards in Tampa Bay's win at Minnesota last Thursday.
Adrian Clayborn - DL - Tampa Bay Buccaneers: In his second year in the league, Clayborn is on the Buccaneers' injured reserve list. The former Iowa All-American started all 19 games in his career for Tampa Bay prior to the injury. Clayborn registered 7.5 sacks during his rookie campaign in 2011.
Sean Considine - DB - Baltimore Ravens: Considine and the Ravens had a bye week.
Mike Daniels - DL - Green Bay Packers: Saw action but recorded no statistics in Green Bay's win against Jacksonville on Sunday.
A.J. Edds - LB - Indianapolis Colts: In his third year in the league, Edds is on the Colts' injured reserve list.
Bradley Fletcher - DB - St. Louis Rams: Fletcher tallied three total tackles, including a solo stop and a defended pass, on Sunday in the Rams loss in London to the Patriots.
Adam Gettis - OL - Washington Redskins: Listed as second team right guard for the Redskins.
Charles Godfrey - DB - Carolina Panthers: Godfrey registered two tackles at Chicago on Sunday. Godfrey became the first rookie in team history to start all 16 games at safety in 2008. He has started 64 of the last 65 games for the Panthers.
Shonn Greene - RB - New York Jets: Greene had another strong week for the Jets, carrying 15 times for 77 yards and adding two catches for 29 yards on Sunday against Miami. The former All-American and 2008 Doak Walker Award Winner has started 22 of the last 24 contests. He ranks tied for third in the NFL with five rushing scores this season.
Chad Greenway - LB - Minnesota Vikings: Greenway led the Vikings with 13 tackles, including five solo stops, against Tampa Bay. The former Iowa All-American leads the league with 81 total tackles this season.
Brad Herman - TE - New England Patriots: In his first year in the league, Herman is on the Patriots' injured reserve list.
Nate Kaeding - K - San Diego Chargers: Kaeding, the NFL's all-time most accurate field goal kicker (.870), has been placed on injured reserve.
Karl Klug - DL - Tennessee Titans: Played but recorded no stats in Tennessee's loss to the Colts. Klug has appeared in all 24 games for Tennessee during his first two seasons, making one start in each. As a rookie in 2011, Klug compiled a team-high seven sacks. The total tied for sixth place in sacks among all NFL rookies, tied for fourth among all NFL defensive tackles, and led all NFL rookie defensive tackles.
Bryan Mattison - OL - Kansas City Chiefs: Mattison is listed as the second team center for the Chiefs.
Marvin McNutt - WR - Philadelphia Eagles: In his first year in the league, McNutt is a member of the Eagles practice squad.
Tony Moeaki - TE - Kansas City Chiefs: Moeaki notched four catches for 57 yards against Oakland on Sunday. He has started six of seven games this season, and 21 of 22 in his career.
Brandon Myers - TE - Oakland Raiders: Myers hauled in three receptions for 49 yards in Oakland's win at Kansas City on Sunday. He leads Oakland in catches (31) and is second in receiving yards (383) this season.
Seth Olsen - OL - Indianapolis Colts: After starting the first three games of the season for Indianapolis, Olsen has been placed on the team's injured reserve list.
Shaun Prater - DB - Cincinnati Bengals: In his first year in the league, Prater is on the Bengals' injured reserve list.
Riley Reiff - OL - Detroit Lions: Reiff started against Seattle on Sunday. Reiff has played in all seven games for Detroit this season, with two starts. He was Detroit's first round pick in 2012, marking the third-straight season an Iowa player was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Allen Reisner - TE - Minnesota Vikings: Reisner is currently on the Vikings practice squad. He played in Minnesota's first three games this season.
Tyler Sash - DB - New York Giants: Recorded three solo tackles in New York's win at Dallas on Sunday. Sash won a super bowl ring during his rookie season with the Giants in 2011.
Amari Spievey - DB - Detroit Lions: Did not play due to injury.
Ricky Stanzi - QB - Kansas City Chiefs: Did not see action.
Jeff Tarpinian - LB - New England Patriots: Tarpinian recorded a tackle in the Patriots win over St. Louis on Sunday in London.
Julian Vandervelde - OL - Philadelphia Eagles: Vandervelde is a member of the Eagles practice squad. He spent the 2011 season with Philadelphia.
Marshal Yanda - OL - Baltimore Ravens: Yanda and the Ravens had a bye week. He has made 65 career starts and has started every game the last three seasons.
Markus Zusevics - OL - New England Patriots: In his first year in the league, Zusevics is on the Patriots' injured reserve list.
