IOWA CITY, IA - Three University of Iowa football players have been named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSida Academic all-District Seven all-America team. Offensive linemen Rob Bruggeman and Julian Vandervelde and defensive tackle Anton Narinskiy have made the prestigious team.

The three Hawkeyes will now have their names placed on the national ballot. All three were members of the 2007 Academic all-Big Ten team.

Narinskiy was named to the district academic team a year ago. He's a 6-4, 255-pound senior from Chagrin Falls, OH. He has seen considerable action as a backup to Mitch King and Matt Kroul. He has a 4.0 grade-point-average while majoring in accounting.

Bruggeman, a 6-3, 287-pound senior from Cedar Rapids, IA, has been Iowa's starting center this season. Bruggeman is a finance major with a 3.37 GPA

Vandervelde is a 6-3, 295-pound sophomore from Davenport, IA who has played primarily at offensive guard. He is majoring in english and secondary education and has a 3.44 GPA.

Like Bruggeman, his blocking has helped Iowa establish one of the best rushing attacks in college football this year.
