IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes continued its climb up the Bowl Championship Series ladder by moving up three position to No. 13 in this week's national championship standings.



The Hawkeyes, one of four teams sitting atop the Big Ten Conference standings, are one of four Big Ten Conference teams in the elite list: Wisconsin , Ohio State, and Michigan State (14th) join Iowa, who defeated Georgia Tech in last year's FedEx Orange Bowl - Iowa's second BCS game under Kirk Ferentz.

Oregon, Auburn, Texas Christian, Boise State and LSU are Nos. 1 through 5.

This is Iowa's 36th total appearance in the BCS poll which is now in its 13th season. This year's BCS schedule is as follows:

  • The Rose Bowl, Jan. 1, 3:30 p.m. Iowa time (ESPN)
  • Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 1, 7:30 p.m. Iowa time (ESPN)
  • Discover Orange Bowl, Jan. 3, 7 p.m. Iowa time (ESPN)
  • Allstate Sugar Bowl, Jan. 4, 7:30 p.m. Iowa time (ESPN
  • Tostitos BCS National Championship Game, Jan. 10, 7:30 p.m. Iowa time (ESPN)
