Hawkeyes in the NFL: 2012 Photo Gallery

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa football program is tied for ninth in the nation with 25 former players on active NFL rosters. In addition, nine other Hawkeyes reside on practice squads or injured reserve.

Iowa ties Michigan for second in the Big Ten amongst NFL alumni on active rosters. Ohio State leads the way with 35. Iowa has five former tight ends in the league, which equals USC and Stanford for the most.

The NFL continued regular season action over the weekend. A number of former Hawkeyes saw action and had success for their respective teams.

Pat Angerer - LB - Indianapolis Colts: Angerer, the leading tackler for the Colts in 2011, tallied a solo tackle in the Colts win at Jacksonville on Thursday.

Jonathan Babineaux - DL - Atlanta Falcons: Babineaux has started 68 of the last 69 games for Atlanta. He recorded a solo stop in the loss at New Orleans on Sunday. Babineaux leads Atlanta with six tackles for loss this year.

Christian Ballard - DL - Minnesota Vikings: Ballard, one of a Big Ten-best six Hawkeyes drafted in 2011, saw action against Detroit on Sunday, recording a quarterback hurry. The defensive tackle played in all 16 games, with two starts, a year ago. He has played in all 10 contests this season.

Jordan Bernstine - DB - Washington Redskins: Bernstine was moved to the Redskins' injured reserve list after an injury in the season opener.

Bryan Bulaga - OL - Green Bay Packers: Bulaga and the Packers had a bye this week. He is in his third season with Green Bay, and has made 33 career starts.

Scott Chandler - TE - Buffalo Bills: Chandler caught five passes for 65 yards and a touchdown on Sunday at New England. He leads the Bills and is tied for 17th in the NFL with five touchdown catches this season.

Dallas Clark - TE - Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Hauled in a three-yard touchdown reception for the Buccaneers on Sunday in their win over San Diego.

Adrian Clayborn - DL - Tampa Bay Buccaneers: In his second year in the league, Clayborn is on the Buccaneers' injured reserve list. The former Iowa All-American started all 19 games in his career for Tampa Bay prior to the injury. Clayborn registered 7.5 sacks during his rookie campaign in 2011.

Sean Considine - DB - Baltimore Ravens: Saw action in win against Oakland on Sunday, recording no statistics.

Mike Daniels - DL - Green Bay Packers: Daniels and the Packers had a bye this week.

A.J. Edds - LB - Indianapolis Colts: In his third year in the league, Edds is on the Colts' injured reserve list.

Bradley Fletcher - DB - St. Louis Rams: Fletcher recorded two solo stops and a pass break-up as the Rams and 49ers ended in a tie on Sunday.

Adam Gettis - OL - Washington Redskins: Listed as second team right guard for the Redskins.

Charles Godfrey - DB - Carolina Panthers: Godfrey registered five tackles, including four solo stops, and a tackle for loss in the Panthers loss to Denver on Sunday. Godfrey became the first rookie in team history to start all 16 games at safety in 2008. He has started 66 of the last 67 games for the Panthers.

Shonn Greene - RB - New York Jets: Greene rushed for 58 yards on 15 carries and added a five-yard reception in New York's loss at Seattle on Sunday. The former All-American and 2008 Doak Walker Award Winner has started 23 of the last 25 contests. He ranks tied for eighth in the NFL with five rushing scores this season.

Brad Herman - TE - New England Patriots: In his first year in the league, Herman is on the Patriots' injured reserve list.

Karl Klug - DL - Tennessee Titans: Registered a tackle in Tennessee's win over Miami on Sunday. Klug has appeared in all 26 games for Tennessee during his first two seasons, making one start in each. As a rookie in 2011, Klug compiled a team-high seven sacks. The total tied for sixth place in sacks among all NFL rookies, tied for fourth among all NFL defensive tackles, and led all NFL rookie defensive tackles.

Bryan Mattison - OL - Kansas City Chiefs: Mattison and the Chiefs play tonight on Monday Night Football (7:30 p.m., ESPN). Mattison is listed as the second team center for the Chiefs.

Marvin McNutt - WR - Philadelphia Eagles: In his first year in the league, McNutt is a member of the Eagles practice squad.

Tony Moeaki - TE - Kansas City Chiefs: Moeaki and the Chiefs play tonight on Monday Night Football (7:30 p.m., ESPN). He has started seven of eight games this season, and 22 of 23 in his career.

Brandon Myers - TE - Oakland Raiders: Myers caught five passes for 57 yards on Sunday at Baltimore. He leads Oakland in catches (44) and is second in receiving yards (499) this season.

Seth Olsen - OL - Indianapolis Colts: After starting the first three games of the season for Indianapolis, Olsen has been placed on the team's injured reserve list.

Shaun Prater - DB - Cincinnati Bengals: In his first year in the league, Prater is on the Bengals' injured reserve list.

Riley Reiff - OL - Detroit Lions: Reiff saw significant action in the Lions loss at Minnesota on Sunday. Reiff has played in all nine games for Detroit this season, with four starts. He was Detroit's first round pick in 2012, marking the third-straight season an Iowa player was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. Allen Reisner - TE - Minnesota Vikings: Reisner did not see action for Minnesota on Sunday. He has played in four games this season for the Vikings.

Tyler Sash - DB - New York Giants: Saw action but recorded no statistics in New York's loss at Cincinnati on Sunday. Sash won a super bowl ring during his rookie season with the Giants in 2011.

Amari Spievey - DB - Detroit Lions: Did not play due to injury.

Ricky Stanzi - QB - Kansas City Chiefs: Stanzi and the Chiefs play tonight on Monday Night Football (7:30 p.m., ESPN).

Jeff Tarpinian - LB - New England Patriots: Saw action in the win over Buffalo, but did not record any statistics.

Julian Vandervelde - OL - Philadelphia Eagles: Vandervelde is in his second season with the Eagles. He was selected by the team in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Marshal Yanda - OL - Baltimore Ravens: Yanda made his 67th career start in the team's win over Oakland on Sunday. He has started every game the last three seasons.

Markus Zusevics - OL - New England Patriots: In his first year in the league, Zusevics is on the Patriots' injured reserve list.
