IOWA CITY, Iowa - The University of Iowa football team will return to the Sunshine State of Florida this bowl season for a New Year's Day date with the LSU in the 2014 Outback Bowl.

The game is a rematch of the heart-pounding 2005 Capital One Bowl that Iowa won 30-25 when Drew Tate connected with Warren Holloway on a 56-yard touchdown on the final play of the game. You can read about that thriller HERE.

Kickoff inside Tampa Bay's Raymond James Stadium is set for shortly after noon Iowa time. The game will be televised live by ESPN.

Fans of the Hawkeyes interested in following the team to Tampa can purchase their bowl game tickets online by clicking HERE. UI students should purchase their tickets through their online ticket account.

Fans can place their order over the phone by calling 1-800 IA-HAWKS or at the UI Athletics Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena beginning Monday at 8 a.m. Iowa time.

As always, the UI Athletics Department encourages fans of the Hawkeyes to purchase their bowl game tickets through the UI Athletics Ticket Office. Another important benefit of purchasing your bowl game tickets through the UI Athletics Ticket Office is, by doing so, fans know they will be "sitting among friends" on game day. Your exact seat location will be determined by your ticket priority, but you can rest assured that you will be located in the official University of Iowa section of the stadium...and cheering the Hawkeyes to victory is always more fun when you're surrounded by black and gold.

Iowa, 8-4 overall, 5-3 against Big Ten Conference opponents, and winners of their last three games, will be making its fourth appearance in the Outback Bowl. The 2014 Outback Bowl will be the 27th bowl game in Iowa football history. The Hawkeyes own a 14-11-1 record in post-season games, a mark that includes a 6-4 record in bowl games during the Ferentz era.
