IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Five University of Iowa men's golfers have earned postseason awards from the Golf Coaches Association of America. Freshman Joseph Winslow was named an honorable mention All-American, while redshirt freshman Ian Vandersee, sophomore Steven Ihm and seniors Chris Brant and Barrett Kelpin were named PING All-Region honorees.

Winslow earned the honorable mention All-America honor by finishing inside the top 15 at the 2012 NCAA Championships. He fired rounds of 69 (-2), 75 (+4) and 71 (E) to tie for the 13th in the nation, individually. Winslow is Iowa's sixth All-American and the third under head coach Mark Hankins.

Brant was a second team All-Big Ten pick and earned medalist honors at the Golden Gopher Invitational and a runner-up finish at the Hawkeye-Great River Entertainment Invitational. This is Brant's second All-Region honor, as he earned the same award last year as a junior. He joins Vince India and Brad Hopfinger as the only players in school history to earn the award twice.

Kelpin was a first team All-Big Ten selection and finished second in the running for Big Ten Player of the Year. His 72.04 regular season stroke average is the second-lowest in Iowa school history. He earned a seventh place finish or better in all three stroke-play events in the spring.

Ihm was also a second team All-Big Ten pick and earned three top-20 finishes in three regular season stroke-play events in the spring. He was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week after earning second place at the Rod Myers Invitational in the fall and carded a career-low round of -5 (67) at the LSU National Invitational.

Vandersee is the first freshman in school history to earn All-Region honors. He finished second in the running for Big Ten Freshman of the Year and tied for seventh in three-straight stroke play events in the spring. He carded a season-low -5 (66) on the final day of play at the NCAA Athens Regional to finish T8, helping Iowa qualify for the NCAA Championsihps.

Iowa was the only school in the Midwest Region to have four players earn honors.
