Senior golfer Andy Tiedt has been named a Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar for both his academic and athletic accomplishments.

Head Coach Terry Anderson presented Tiedt with the plaque Saturday at the team's kickoff picnic at Finkbine Golf Course. This marks the seventh time a student-athlete golfer has earned this honor during Anderson's 11-year tenure.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a junior, play in 70 percent of his respective team's tournaments, have a 77.0 stroke average or better and a 3.2 GPA or higher.

Tiedt recorded a 76.1 stroke average in eight tournaments last year.
