In 2012, Doug Sullivan joined the University of Iowa men's gymnastics team with the goal of making the squad as a walk-on. Three years later, the junior has become one of the best gymnasts on pommel horse in the country.

No. 2 Penn State Downs No. 6 Iowa

The No. 6-ranked University of Iowa men's gymnastics team traveled to University Park, Pennsylvania, for a Friday night meet against No. 2 Penn State. Despite a setting a season-high, the Hawkeyes fell to Penn State 435.750 to 440.800.

The University of Iowa men's gymnastics team will send two gymnasts to Las Vegas, Nevada, this weekend to compete in the annual Winter Cup Challange located inside the Riviera Hotel. The No. 9 University of Iowa men's gymnastics team (435.400) recorded six career-highs and set a new season high for team score as the Hawkeyes came from behind to defeat No. 10 Minnesota (433.600) and No. 11 Nebraska (420.250) on Valentine's Day.
