Hawkeyes Take First At Pacific Coast Classic

OAKLAND, CA - The University of Iowa men's gymnastics team took first place in the fifth annual Pacific Coast Classic with a final score of 336.700. Iowa beat No. 4 Michigan to grab the first place finish. The Hawkeyes once again scored two season event highs, inlcuding Curtis Kleffman's score of 14.40 on pommel horse that placed second. Kleffman and Ben Ketelsen both surpassed the season high in the all-around competion, placing first with an 84.65 and second with an 83.20 respectively. On floor, Kleffman placed second scoring a 14.95, while Ketelsen placed second on vault with a final score of 15.30. Iowa will host Illinois at the UI Field House on Saturday March 1. Competition will begin at 2 p.m.
