UNIVERSITY PARK, PA - The University of Iowa men's gymnastics team competed in the 2007 all-around finals Friday at Penn State University. The Hawkeyes finished fifth in yesterday's qualifying round, with a score of 209.5. The top ten finishers in each event will compete Saturday night for the individual event finals. Iowa's three competitors are Jacob Becker, Geoff Reins and Bryan Bourland.
Geoff Reins finished in the top spot on vault, scoring a 9.3. On floor exercise, Reins posted a 9.45 to finish 13th overall. In the all-around, Jonathan Buese scored a 48.4 for 12th place. Jacob Becker finished fifth on pommel horse, scoring a 9.1. Bryan Bourland posted a 9.3 on high bar for fifth place.
The individual event championships will be held tomorrow night beginning at 7 p.m.
