With JD Reive leading the University of Iowa men's gymnastics team, the Hawkeyes have a new found champion pedigree.

UI head coach JD Reive is entering his second season in charge of the Hawkeye men's gymnastics team.

Reive, who is the seventh UI head coach in the program's 83-year history, came to Iowa City after serving as an assistant coach at national power Stanford. In Palo Alto, Reive helped guide the Cardinal to four top-three finishes at the NCAA Championships, including the 2009 NCAA title, and coached 44 student-athletes to All-America honors.

Reive maintained ties to the Hawkeye tradition with the addition of four-year UI letterwinner Brad Virkler to his staff as an assistant coach.
