High School -- North Central Swim Conference Athlete of the Year as a senior... two-time all-conference... set school records in 50 free (22.62), 100 free (49.57), 200 free (1:55.32), 100 fly (56.10) and as part of 200 free (1:32.3) and 400 free relays (3:33.0)... team captain senior year... also competed for YMCA in Lacrosse, WI, where he set team records as part of 200 free (1:27.9), 200 medley (1:38.2) and 400 medley relays (3:40.3)... the 200 free and 200 medley relay times were also state records...YMCA national qualifier in 50 and 100 free... lettered four years in track, two in football and two in swimming... earned U.S. Army National Scholar Athlete of the Year award senior year... high school coach was Cindy Blauer... club coaches were Jon Brenner and Eric Wojta.
