FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The University of Iowa men's 400 free relay team of Gianni Sesto, Ryan Phelan, Jordan Huff and Paul Gordon posted Iowa's third relay All-America Honorable Mention recognition during the final day of the 2012 Men's Swimming and Diving NCAA Championships. The Hawkeyes finished 26th overall at the championships with 20 points.

The quartet qualified for the consolation final of the 400 free relay with a 10th place (2:54.14) finish during Saturday's morning preliminaries. The Hawkeyes went on to place third in the consolation final, placing 11th overall in the event with a time of 2:54.22. Their time of 2:54.22 ranks third on Iowa's all-time top performers list.

The last Iowa 400 free relay to earn All-America honors was last season at the 2011 NCAA Championships. Duncan Partridge, Phelan, Huff and Gordon touched the wall in a time of 2:54.19 to place 15th in the event.

The 400 free relay team marks the third Iowa relay to garner All-America honors at the 2012 NCAA Championships. Huff, Sesto, Phelan and Gordon teamed up for the 800 free relay during the second day of the championships and posted a 15th place finish with a time of 6:29.33, becoming the 12th relay team in school history to receive All-America honors in the event.

The Hawkeyes return to action on April 14 when they host their Annual Alumni Meet at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center. The meet is set to start at 11 a.m.
