AUSTIN, Texas -- Senior Dustin Rhoads wrapped up his career at the University of Iowa on Saturday afternoon at the 2014 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Rhoads, swimming the 200 backstroke, finished 32nd in 1:43.04.

"It was another strong performance for Dustin today with the second-fastest performance in Iowa history," said UI head coach Marc Long. "It caps off a tremendous and record-setting career as a Hawkeye. Dustin's hard work, loyalty, and dedication will be missed."

Rhoads, who entered the NCAA Championships holding the school record in the event (1:42.94), fell just short of his record-setting time during Saturday's prelims. His time of 1:43.03 is the second-fastest time in program history.

The Hawkeyes will return to the pool for the start of the long course season on April 12 with the Long Course Intrasquad.
