IOWA CITY, IA - Madison, WI -- Iowa competed in the Big Ten Singles competition earlier today. J.P. Ritchie fell to Ohio State's Dennis Mertens 6-1, 6-1. Northwestern University's Willy Lock defeated Chaitu Malempati 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Bart van Monsjou was defeated by Paul Rose of Purdue 6-4, 7-6 (4). Kyle Markham fell to Michael McCarthy of Indiana 6-4, 6-3 and Brett Taylor was defeated by Ohio State's Scott Green 6-3, 6-2.

In the qualifying draw Friday, November 12 Jordan Raemisch of Wisconsin defeated Aaron Schaechterle 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). Jonny Hoak fell to Indiana's Tom Bagnato 7-5, 6-4. Sion Wilkins of Minnesota defeated Scott Elwell, 6-4, 6-3 and Vinny Gossain from Michigan defeated Andrew Holm 6-0, 6-1.
