High School -- won state 800-meter title (1:56.26) and placed third in 400 meters (50.22) as a sophomore... 16-time state qualifier... eight-time conference champion and two-time runner-up... five-time first team all-conference... set school records in 400 meters (50.21) and 800 meters (1:56.26), and anchored school-record setting distance medley (3:38.19) and 3,200-meter relays (8:13.45)... other best times were 22.85 in 200 meters and 56.21 in 400-meter hurdles... lettered four years in track and two in cross country and basketball... coached by Joe Angstman and Tom Smith... National Honor Society member... academic all-conference... earned U.S. Army National Scholar-Athlete award and President's education award for outstanding academic excellence winner.
