Outdoor - runner-up in shot put with a collegiate-best 62-3 at NCAA Midwest Regional to earn all-region honors and qualify for NCAA Championships... that mark led the team and ranks second on Iowa's all-time best performers list... placed fifth in shot put (60-9 1/2) and eighth in discus (168-3) at Big Ten Championships... placed 21st in shot put at NCAA Championships (57-9 3/4)... won shot put at Musco Twilight VII (60-5 1/4), placed second at Cal State Northridge (60-5 3/4) and Drake Relays (59-0 3/4), and placed sixth at Tom Botts Invite (57-5 1/2)...letterwinner

Outdoor - qualified for NCAA Championships in shot put, placing fourth with a throw of 61-4 1/4 at NCAA Midwest Regional meet... all-region selection in shot put, leading team in that event... placed sixth in shot (62-1 3/4) at Big Ten Championships... that mark also met the U.S. Olympic Trials "B" standard... placed 15th in shot (59-5 1/2) at NCAA Championships... won shot put at Drake Relays (59-11 1/4) and placed second at Iowa Musco Twilight VI (60-8)... letterwinner.

2003 -- Indoor - provisionally qualified for NCAA Championships in shot put each time he threw it... won shot put at Hawkeye Invite (58-3), Gold Country Classic (58-4 3/4) and Iowa Open (58-11 1/2)... also placed second in shot put at Panther Classic (58-3) and fourth (58-4) at Iowa State Classic... led team in shot put... Outdoor - redshirted.

2002 -- Indoor - redshirted... Outdoor - threw season-bests in shot put (59-10 1/2) and discus (154-6) at Iowa Musco Twilight IV... placed seventh in shot put (55-8 1/2) and 11th (153-6) in discus at Big Ten Championships... led team in shot put, provisionally qualifying for NCAA Championships... placed fourth in shot (57-9 3/4) at Drake Relays and fifth (58-1 3/4) at Mt. SAC Relays ... letterwinner.

2001 -- Indoor - placed eighth in shot put (56-6) at Big Ten Championships... Outdoor - placed fourth in shot put USATF Junior Nationals... ranked in the top 10 in shot in the world in the under-age 19 category... placed seventh in shot (55-0 1/4) at Big Ten Championships... won shot at UNI Open (57-0 3/4) and Indiana Quad (57-8 1/2)... runner-up in shot with a NCAA provisionally qualifying mark of 58-9 1/4 at Iowa Twilight... letterwinner.

High School -- two-time Track & Field News all-American... state and sectional champion in shot and runner-up in discus at state meet... placed third in shot at state meet as a junior... three-time indoor and outdoor conference shot champion... set indoor state record in shot put (60-2)... placed third in shot (63-10) at Golden West Invite... best throws were 63-10 in shot and 183-0 in discus... team captain, all-state and named conference Defensive Player of the Year in football... coach was Jim Aikens.
