The University of Iowa field hockey team has had four student-athletes named to the 2006 NFHCA National Academic Squad. Freshmen Melissa Helsel, Lissa Munley and Lauren Pfeiffer and junior Kelly Slattery were named to the Division I list.

The National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2005-06 academic year. This is the third year that Slattery has been honored by the NFHCA for her academic success. She is also a two-time Academic all-Big Ten selection.
