Today two University of Iowa players were selected to all-American teams by WomensFieldHockey.com. Junior Heather Schnepf and freshman Caitlin McCurdy picked up nods for the first-team and all-rookie squad, respectively.

Schnepf, a junior midfielder for the Hawkeyes, made the first-team all-American list. This season, she led Iowa with five defensive saves and was first in the league with 0.31 defensive saves per game. Schnepf was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and was a 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA all-Region first-team pick.

McCurdy is a forward for the Hawkeyes and was chosen to be part of the all-Rookie Squad. She scored 28 points for Iowa with a team-high 11 goals and six assists. She was second in the league with 3.61 shots taken per game and was seventh with an average of 1.56 points scored per game. McCurdy was the Big Ten Freshman Player of the Year and was also a second-team all-Big Ten selection.
