ROCK HILL, S.C. - The University of Iowa women's golf team finished in fifth place Sunday at the Shamrock Intercollegiate, wrapping up a two week stretch of play. Senior Jill Marcum led the Hawkeyes with a score of 237, finishing with a tie of 13th place. Murray State won the competition by one stroke with a score of 935.

Junior Becky Quinby continued her steady play in recent weeks, finishing in 18th place with a score of 241. Senior Melanie Boyles rebounded from a sluggish first round to tie for 24th place with a score of 245. Fellow junior Tyrette Metzendorf, who ended the second round in 10th place, was unfortunately disqualified for her second round score, but did play Sunday, shooting a 74.

Freshmen Brianna Coopman and Laura Cilek both had impressive scores this weekend. Playing as individuals, Coopman tied with Marcum for 13th place (237) and Cilek tied for 28th place (246). Teammates Amanda Stahl (257) and Lauren Forbes (268) rounded out individual competition by finishing tied for 49th place and 62nd place, respectively.

The Hawkeyes are off until April 7, when they travel to Carmel, Ind., for the Indiana Invitational.
