Iowa In Ninth After Two Rounds

EAST LANSING, MI -- The University of Iowa women's golf team is in ninth place after playing 36 holes at the 72-hole Big Ten Invitational Friday. Iowa carded a two round total of 642 at the par-72 Forest Akers West Golf Course. Michigan State leads the 11-team tournament with a score of 600.
Tyrette Metzendorf leads the Hawkeyes, tied for 17th, after carding a two round total of 158 (+14). One stroke behind her is Melanie Boyles, who is tied for 24th (159 +15). Amy Riepma carded a 162 (+18) and is tied for 38th.
Iowa plays the second round of the Big Ten Championships Saturday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CDT). Live stats are available through www.golfstat.com.
