LINCOLN, Neb. -- University of Iowa women's golfer Shelby Phillips fired a 67 (-5) to tie Iowa's all time best single round performance and set a new tournament record Tuesday in the final round of the Chip-N-Club Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska. Phillips' score placed her tied for fifth place and contributed to the Hawkeyes' fourth place team finish. Iowa carded a 54-hole team score of 910 (+46).

"Everything came together for me today," said Phillips. "I approached each shot with confidence and trusted my stroke. It was a fun day on the course for me. The team played better today. Everyone fought for each and every shot, which made for an exciting round."

Senior Karly Grouwinkel started the day strong, sinking two birdies to finish even on the front nine. Grouwinkel posted a 77 (+5) on the back nine in the final round to finish in 10th place with a 54-hole score of 226 (+10).

Jessie Sindlinger had an impressive final round, shooting a 71 (-1) to climb 17 spots on the leader board on the final day. The freshman ended her Hawkeye debut with a 54-hole score of 234 (+18) to tie for 25th place. Lauren English finished close behind in a tie for 27th place. English posted a score of 235 (+19), with two birdies in her final round today.

In her first meet as a Hawkeye, Allison Lindley fired a 75 (+3) contributing to her final score of 228 (+12) and tie for 14th place. She competed as an individual.

The Iowa women's golf team, which finished fifth at last year's Chip-N-Club Invitational, will return to action Sept. 20-21 when they travel to Albuquerque, N.M., for the Branch Law Firm-Dick McGuire Invitational.
