Hawkeyes in Tenth After First Round in Austin

AUSTIN, TX - - The Iowa women's golf team is in 10th place at the Challenge at Wolfdancer. The team completed the first round with a score of 327, but was unable to finish the second round due to weather conditions in Austin. Colorado (+32) is holding on to the top spot into the second round with a two stroke lead over Idaho. Tyrette Metzendorf is +7 overall and one under through 11 holes in her second round. The senior is currently tied for 10th. Sophomore Brianna Coopman (+12) is one of three Hawkeyes in the top 50. After 12 holes in the second round she is three over and in a tie for 30th. Becky Quinby (+14) is the third Iowa golfer to break the top 50. The senior from Georgetown, TX is four over through six holes in the second round and tied for 36th individually. Junior Alison Cavanaugh came off the links after six holes also. She and freshman Chelsea Harris are tied for 59th; both are +18 on the day. Laura Cilek rounded out Iowa's lineup in Austin. The sophomore co-captain is tied for 67th after shooting +20 on the day. The remainder of the second round will be concluded in the morning before the beginning of the third round.
