The University of Iowa women's golf team travels to the third annual Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. this weekend to kick off its 2014 season. The 54-hole tournament will be hosted by Wisconsin on the Vistas Course at the Westbrook Village Golf Club (par 72; yardage 6,269). Live scoring and results will be available at golfstat.com.

"The team has prepared well this off season and is looking forward to heading to Arizona. We have some strong experience in our line-up, and I know that will play a big role in our spring tournaments. I think we have improved physically, technically, and mentally during the past few months. We are looking forward to competing and trusting our preparation."

Competition begins with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. (CT) on Sunday followed by a second round at 1:00 p.m. The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. on Monday.

The Hawkeye lineup has not yet been determined, but Shelby Phillips, Jessie Sindlinger, Briana Midkiff, Nicole Rae, Allison Lindley, and Karly Grouwinkel will be competing at the Westbrook Invitational.

The 14-team field features Oregon, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Illinois, College of Charleston, Oregon State, Nebraska, Washington State, Kansas State, Iowa, Tulsa, Colorado State, Indiana, and Eastern Michigan.

The Hawkeyes concluded their fall season at the Fighting Camel Classic in Buies Creek, N.C. They fired a 919 (+55) to finish sixth in a field of 12 teams. Junior Shelby Phillips was Iowa's top finisher. Phillips carded a 224 (+8) to tie for sixth place and mark her second top-10 finish of the season.

Iowa returns to action at the Hurricane Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla., on March 3-5. The 54-hole tournament includes 17 teams and will be hosted by the University of Miami at the Biltmore Golf Course (par 71, yardage 6,092).
