The University of Iowa women's golf team travels to French Lick, Ind., on April 25-27 to compete in the 2014 Big Ten Championships. The tournament consists of stroke play of 54 holes: 18 holes per day, with the Friday and Saturday rounds beginning at 8 a.m. (CT), and Sunday's round beginning at 7 a.m. (CT). Live scoring will be available throughout the event at golfstat.com.

BTN will provide tape-delayed coverage of the Big Ten Women's Golf Championships on Wednesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. (CT).

The 2014 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships will be contested on the award-winning Pete Dye Course (6,017 yards, par 72). Golfweek Magazine ranked the Pete Dye course No. 1 in the state of Indiana, and it was also named America's Best New Public Course in 2009 by Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine. The course was carefully carved on a dramatic hilltop offering a variety of elevation changes, rugged and dramatic terrain, narrow fairways and challenging bunkers.

Karly Grouwinkel, Amy Ihm, Allison Lindley, Briana Midkiff, Shelby Phillips, and Jessie Sindlinger will be competing for the Hawkeyes at the Big Ten Championships.

The Hawkeyes finished eighth in a field of 12 teams with a team score of 938 (+74) at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on April 19-20. The field featured seven Big Ten teams. Iowa finished ahead of Nebraska and Indiana. Freshman Jessie Sindlinger was the Hawkeyes' top finisher, tying for 31st with a 235 (+19) tournament total.

"The Lady Buckeye was a good source of confidence for us. We've been close all spring to knocking off some people, and I think it makes you feel good. It will be pretty competitive this week."

    QUOTING JUNIOR Shelby Phillips
"Confidence is going to be huge this week. I just want to go out there, play with confidence, believe in myself, and shoot some good scores. It's my third go-around so I feel comfortable heading into the weekend. Having so many Hawk fans out there supporting us is always nice. Big Ten's are fun."

The Hawkeyes fired an 877 (+13) to establish a new 54-hole school record at the Westbrook Invitational on Feb. 23-24. The previous record was set at the Westbrook Invitational in 2012 when the team shot an 879. The Hawkeyes' 36-hole score of 585 is good for third overall in Iowa history, and their 18-hole score of 291 ties for fifth.
