Harris, the first Hawkeye to compete in the event, will open play in the 68th annual U.S. Women's Open in the first group on Thursday at 5:45 a.m. (CT), joining Ayako Uehara and Jamie Hullett. The group will tee off at 11:30 a.m. (CT) on Friday on hole No. 10.

The field of 156 players will be cut to the low 60 scores and ties before the weekend.

To earn a spot, Harris advanced through the Wheaton, Ill., qualifier, in a one-hole playoff on May 14. She finished with a 36-hole total of 145 (+1) at Cantigny Golf Club to finish tied for second place, where she went on to defeat Mexico's Ana Menendez in a first-hole playoff.

Harris was a member of the UI women's golf team from 2008-12. The Normal, Ill., native competed in 40 career tournaments. As a senior in 2012, she played in 11 events, posting a team-best 76.28 scoring average, tying Liz Bennet for the ninth-best scoring average in school history.

First and second round action will be broadcast on ESPN2 (2-6 p.m. CT), and third and final round action can be seen on NBC (2-5 p.m. CT).
